ನ ದೇವಾ ದಂಡ ಮಾದಾಯ ರಕ್ಷಂತಿ ಪಶುಪಾಲವತ್,
ಯಂತು ರಕ್ಷತಿ ಮಿಚ್ಚಂತಿ ಸುಬುದ್ದ್ಯಾ ಯೋಜಯಂತಿ ತಮ್. ~ ಸುಭಾಷಿತಂ.
ದನಕಾಯುವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ದನಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವಂತೆ ದೇವರು ಸ್ವತ: ಬಂದು ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಬದಲಾಗಿ ತಾನು ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕಾದವರಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ತಮ್ಮ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಕರುಣಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
God will not protect by Himself the cowboy by giving the cane to his hand to tender the cows. Instead, for those He wants to protect, He will give the right intellect and ability to protect themselves by themselves. ~ subhashitam
